Rep. Gibbs' Statement on the President's Budget
Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (OH-7) released the following statement today after President Obama released his FY2014 budget:
“After failing to meet the legally mandated deadline, the President has unveiled his budget two months late. When compared with the House-passed budget, the difference is clear. The President’s budget does not, and will never balance. The President’s budget increases taxes by $1.1 trillion, which will hurt recent college graduates seeking jobs, hardworking families, and senior citizens. Instead of cutting spending and being fiscally responsible, the President’s budget is asking hardworking Americans to carry the weight.
“The House has passed a balanced budget that will end the wasteful spending in Washington, create a healthier economy and provide opportunities. With a balanced budget, we will be able to deliver real solutions to the American people and put our country back on the right path, instead of saddling the next generation with debt. The President’s proposed budget is filled with gimmicks. It is not a serious plan to help our economy get back on track.” – U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (OH-7)
