Rep. Gibbs Receives NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) was selected by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today to receive their Guardian of Small Business Award in recognition for his voting record during the 112th Congress.
The award was presented by NFIB President and CEO, Dan Danner. “The record shows that Rep. Gibbs is a true champion of small business, having stood strong on the key small-business votes in the 112th Congress,” said Danner. “This award reflects our members’ appreciation for supporting the NFIB pro-growth agenda for small business.”
Upon receipt of the award, Gibbs said, “I am honored to have been chosen as an NFIB Guardian of Small Business. I have been working to protect small businesses throughout the 112th Congress, most recently by supporting the Red Tape Reduction and Small Business Job Creation Act. The legislation, which passed the House, enforces a freeze on all new significant regulations that negatively affect the economy until the national unemployment rate reaches six percent or below.
“America’s small businesses fuel our economy as vital job creators,” Gibbs continued. “We must work to ensure they are not held back by burdensome federal bureaucracy.”
