Congressman Gibbs Announces SARTA Grant
Washington D.C.—Congressman Bob Gibbs released the following statement upon notice of the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) receiving a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation:
“I’m excited to share the news to the residents of Stark County that SARTA has just been awarded a grant for the purchase of a new zero-emissions, fuel cell bus to add to their already impressive SARTA fleet. This high-profile project will help ensure that SARTA remains a leader in providing innovative services to Stark County residents. In March, I wrote a letter to the Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration expressing the importance of this grant to Stark County,” said Gibbs. “Many residents rely on this mode of transportation to get to work, to see their doctor or go to the grocery store. This is a reliable, safe and efficient mode of transportation for these residents and today’s announcement is a step forward in continued efforts to improve Stark County transit.”
Kirt Conrad is the Executive Director and CEO of the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority:
“I would like to thank Congressman Gibbs for his help in bringing the 1st hydrogen fuel cell bus that will be in continues service to Ohio. This demonstration will move improve the air quality on our area as well as highlight Ohio as a leader in the fuel cell industry.”
