Congressman Gibbs Introduced a Bill to Retain the Name of Mount McKinley

Today, Congressman Gibbs introduced a bill that will retain the name of North America’s highest point, Mount McKinley.

William McKinley served our nation in the Army, as member of the House of Representatives, as the 39th Governor of Ohio and the 25th President of the United States.  President William McKinley was from Niles, Ohio and his resting place is in Canton at the McKinley National Memorial.

“Located in Alaska, Mount McKinley is the highest point in North America and has held the name of our nation’s 25th President for over 100 years,” said Congressman Gibbs.  “This landmark is a testament to his countless years of service to our country.”
