Congressman Gibbs Hosts Congressional Agriculture Forum

March 18, 2015
Press Release

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Gibbs released the following statement after he hosted the Congressional Agriculture Forum with the Ohio Farm Bureau Presidents:

Congressman Bob Gibbs:

“Each year, I have the honor of hosting the Ohio Farm Bureau’s Congressional Agriculture Forum for the Ohio County Farm Bureau Presidents Trip. As a former Farm Bureau President, I enjoy working with farmers about issues affecting their industry. Agriculture is the backbone of our nation’s economy and the policies coming out of Washington, D.C. are making day-to-day business even harder. Whether it’s the EPA’s proposed Waters of the United States rule, or our complicated tax code, Washington, D.C.’s one-size-fits-all policies just aren’t working. Today, we had a great discussion with six other members of Congress on ways Congress can work together to get America back to work again.

Steve Hirsch, President, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation:

“Ohio Farm Bureau appreciates Congressman Gibbs’ effort in putting together this outstanding forum.  He gave our county presidents an outstanding opportunity to hear from key agricultural leaders, who along with Speaker Boehner made this a tremendous event. Farm Bureau is grateful for Rep. Gibbs’ great hospitality.”
