Congressman Gibbs Continues to Support the Keystone XL Pipeline

November 14, 2014
Press Release

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Gibbs released the following statement after H.R. 5682 – To approve the Keystone XL Pipeline passed the House:

“Today, my colleagues and I voted once again to achieve North American energy independence and create jobs by supporting the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. The House has now voted nine times to approve the Keystone Pipeline since 2011.  The Pipeline would move up to 830,000 barrels of oil a day, the equivalent of what is currently imported from the Middle East. Most importantly, the Keystone Pipeline’s construction will create 42,000 jobs nationwide with no harmful effects to the environment and help put Americans back to work. The House has consistently supported the Pipeline and it is time the President and the Senate recognize its benefits for the country.”
