Congressman Bob Gibbs Statement On Bolivar Dam Funding

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) issues the following statement regarding the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Award of Bolivar Dam Safety Assurance Funding Contract:

“I am pleased to hear that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded additional Dam Safety Assurance funding for the Bolivar Dam in Bolivar, Ohio. This dam is an integral part of a network of flood control infrastructure that protects communities in Eastern and South Eastern Ohio, located 13 miles upstream from the city of Dover, Ohio. The Army Corps has awarded a $44.3 million contract to Treviicos South, Inc. who will be tasked with addressing the problems that this dam brings to Ohio residents. As always, public safety is  the number one priority and I am pleased to hear that the Army Corps understands the importance of addressing the issues of the Bolivar Dam in a timely matter for the betterment of both counties and its citizens.”
