WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Bob Gibbs announced that ArmorSource, LLC of Hebron, Ohio has been tapped to produce 136,350 Ground Troop Parachutist's Helmets (PASGT) on a $21.3 million Department of Defense Contract to supply the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) with personal armor systems for ground troop helmets.

“At this very moment, thousands of our courageous men and women in uniform are serving in harm's way to defend our freedom and liberty,” said Congressman Gibbs.  “As they selflessly commit themselves to our nation’s safety, my mission is to provide them with the greatest protection possible.”

He continued, “That is why I am extremely pleased to announce that ArmorSource, LLC of the 18th Congressional District has been awarded $21.3 million contract by the Department of Defense in support of U.S. efforts to protect our military while they protect us.  My office worked closely with ArmorSource as this contract proceeded to award and I am pleased to see this critical work being carried out in Hebron.”

ArmorSource is producing the very highest quality personalarmor systems for ground troop helmets both for our troops and our allies.  These helmets will protect military troops with significant ballistic protection for the head, temple, and neck areas against fragmenting munitions.

“At a time when job creation is paramount to economic recovery, I am glad that ArmorSource touches over 100 job-creating small Ohio businesses in order to achieve its stellar production capacity,” said Gibbs.  “Since opening its doors in 2009, ArmorSource has created over 167 jobs and with this new contract, plans to create at least another 50 jobs here in Ohio.

“I am proud to have a company like ArmorSource in our District as it represents the best in American innovation.  This contract is great news for our military and especially great news for Southeast Ohioans as we work to get our economy back on track.”
