1,200 JOB-SEEKERS ATTEND CONGRESSMAN GIBBS’ JOB FAIR
NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH – Congressman Bob Gibbs hosted the biggest job fair Tuscarawas County has seen in 8 years. Working in conjunction with The Employment Source, Goodwill Industries and WJER Radio, the record event drew 1,200 job seekers to meet with close to 60 employers at the Monroe Centre in New Philadelphia.
“Opportunities like this job fair are important because they efficiently connect people who want to work with employers who are looking to fill good-paying jobs,” said Congressman Gibbs. “I am glad that this event introduced almost 60 hiring employers to over 1,200 job seekers, many of whom have been struggling to find a job in this economy. I look forward to hearing from folks whose meetings today turn into interviews and, hopefully, job offers.”
“Jobs and job growth have been and will continue to be my top priorities in Congress. I would like to thank the Employment Source, Goodwill Industries, and WJER Radio for their immense support and hard work that made today’s event a great success. I look forward to doing more events like this in the future.”
Congressman Gibbs spent much of the morning visiting with the attendees and businesses. In addition to meeting the large number of employers present, job-seekers had opportunities to learn about résumé writing and job interview skills from the Employment Source.
