Gibbs Wins U.S. Chamber Spirit of Enterprise Award
WASHINGTON, DC - For the seventh year in a row, Congressman Bob Gibbs was awarded the U.S. Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award. The Chamber’s prestigious award is given annually to members of Congress based on their votes on legislation important to the business community.
The U.S. Chamber noted Congressman Gibbs’ support of last year’s tax reform legislation, efforts to limit lawsuit abuse, and legislation increasing access to funding for small businesses and start-ups in its scores.
“It is an honor to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award again,” said Congressman Bob Gibbs. “Main Street businesses are the main source of new jobs, and they make our communities safer and more prosperous. That is why I am proud to support an agenda that encourages economic growth. We have made it easier for small business owners and American entrepreneurs to start or expand their businesses. I want to thank the U.S. Chamber for its work in advocating for America’s businesses and for this award.”
“It’s a good time to be doing business in America, thanks to a slate of legislative accomplishments that laid the groundwork for more economic growth and job creation,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “These efforts to advance commonsense, growth-oriented legislation will help Main Street American businesses thrive. We commend Congressman Gibbs for his commitment to promoting and protecting American free enterprise and economic prosperity.”
